HOW: Detailed
consultation with the Owners and by a collaborative design process
involving all parties including the Builder and present operator
WHEN: 2001 - 2004
WHERE: On a very high
plateau (1130m average above sea level) approx. 3.5Km west of the 1222m high
Spicers’ Peak and 7Km SW of Cunningham’s Gap, Queensland
WHY:
Cedar Mountain, as the area was original known, has been many things
throughout aboriginal and European
histories. The views are expansive, pleasant, centred on true north
which particularly facilitates ideal architectural orientation, and
otherwise - perfect.
This redevelopment of the previously vacant plateau amongst the high
peaks of the Scenic Rim provides a most luxurious and exclusive
retreat from urban life in an eyrie far from all but quietness and
bliss. The fine views over distant vales, notable mountain passes, Mt.
Cordeaux Mt. Mitchell and Spicers Peak amongst the adjacent World
Heritage listed Main Range National Park are accessible from all
suites and the lofty viewing platform perched above the main lounge
space.
A breathtaking spot!
